March 2022

Dig-IT has been carefully designed as a solution for seniors requiring assistance to access technology and support to build digital skills. The program provides tablets, data, education and technical support for low-income Canadian seniors to join the digital world. Participants are paired with a volunteer Digital Coach who gives support and encouragement on their digital journey.

This program is ideally suited to older adults who will benefit from learning basic, essential digital literacy skills such as connecting to Wi-Fi, tablet gestures, using the camera, and accessing email and the internet.

If you are an eligible organization (Care Homes, Seniors Centres, Community Centres, Charitable organization, etc.) you can apply to become a partner and receive the program on behalf of low-income seniors that you serve.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Canadian organization that supports low-income seniors.
  • Can provide a resource (employee or volunteer) to coordinate program intake.
  • Enroll participants within four weeks of the program being awarded.
  • Recruit volunteers who would be interested to receive training and serve as Digital Coaches.

Applications are now open, and the deadline to apply is March 31st.
