As part of a research study conducted by a Master’s Research Student at the University of Toronto, newcomers are invited to participate in a study which explores the experience of immigrants searching for employment in Canada. While employment outcomes have been extensively studied among newcomers, comparatively little research has been conducted on the job-seeking behaviour of newcomers. The study seeks to understand the relationship between experience, expertise, language proficiency, settlement services, and the jobs that newcomers are applying for. The research consists of a survey of newcomers to Canada, who moved within the past five years and who are currently job-seeking. The survey asks questions about their experience, English language proficiency, use of settlement services, and recent job applications, however, the survey does not require any personal or identifying information.

If you are interested in sharing your experience, participate in the survey.
