The Government of Canada launched a three-digit suicide crisis helpline to provide suicide prevention support to people in need. The new phone number is 9-8-8 and is a direct line to the crisis helpline. People can call or text this number in English and French 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is operating the 9-8-8: Suicide Crisis Helpline, with its experienced network of trained responders ready to answer calls and texts.
