Aviva Canada released the How We Live report, which delves into how Canadians view hybrid and remote working models, the housing market, transportation, climate change, sustainability, and other key factors impacting the lives of workers. The report found that fewer Canadians are permanently working remotely (19%), compared to 2022 (27%). While, there has been an increase in Canadians working hybridly (29%), compared to 2022 (25%). Canadian workers expressed that they appreciate the hybrid model of working, as they are able to reap the benefits of work-life balance and workplace culture.
Based on the report, 25% of Canadian workers indicated that they enjoy the collaborative environment of an office space. 21% of workers expressed that they favour the social atmosphere of the office. With 15% of survey participants indicating that they are able to maintain a better work-life balance, compared to 9% in 2022. The cost-of-living crisis may now be superseding the great resignation, as workers are opting for job stability as the economy continues to fluctuate. The study found that 18% of Canadians are stressed about inflation, 13% expressed concerns about a potential layoff, and another 13% are concerned about their ability to find a new job.
