Remote released the Global Life-Work Balance Index 2024, which ranks countries leading the way in terms of work-life balance. The ranking is based on various workplace factors, including statutory annual leave, minimum statutory sick pay, paid maternity leave and payment rate, minimum wage, healthcare system, happiness index, average hours per week per employee, 2SLGBTQI+ inclusivity, and safety. Canada ranked #5 with an index score of 72.75, based on the average working hours, level of safety, and 2SLGBTQI+ inclusivity. New Zealand ranked in the top spot, with an index score of 80.76, ranking highly for annual leave and sick pay, minimum wage, healthcare, happiness index, 2SLGBTQI+ inclusivity, and safety.
