Robert Half Canada released the results from a recent survey, which found that half of Canadian working professionals have started looking or are planning to look for a new job in the second half of 2024. The survey of 600 Canadian workers and over 200 hiring managers at organizations with 20 or more employees was conducted in April 2024. According to the study, over half (58%) of respondents indicated that their top challenges when applying for jobs include trying to make their application stand out and finding time to apply for jobs.
Top job search motivators:
- A higher salary (60%)
- Better benefits and perks (50%)
- More flexibility (32%)
- A higher-level title (31%)
Top reasons workers lose interest in job openings:
- Mismatched title for experience/education required within the description (39%)
- The requirement to work on-site with no potential for remote work (39%)
- Vague or unreasonable job responsibilities, reporting lines and career path (36%)
