The Canadian Career Development Foundation (CCDF) and Challenge Factory are proud to be teaming up with Scotiabank to facilitate the Veterans and Small Business Community Challenge (VSBCC). This new, innovative, and experiential initiative in Belleville/Trenton, ON seeks to enrich small- and medium-sized organization’s recruitment, onboarding, and hiring capabilities while introducing executive directors and hiring managers to the skills and benefits of a hidden talent pool, military Veterans. After many months of feeling a bit adrift, now is the perfect time to engage with new colleagues, enhance your people practices and shape a bright future.

The pilot, funded by Scotiabank, will connect and support Veterans and hiring managers in the Belleville-Trenton, Ontario, area. The program brings together Veterans looking to learn more about working in smaller organizations (most are streamed to government or large enterprises for employment upon leaving the military) and the executive director or president of a small organization (including nonprofits). After learning more about each other, program participants will work together in a simulation day that puts military training and skills to work helping the organization with a pandemic/post-pandemic related challenge.
